During my PhD program, I was involved in different researchers related to social and cognitive abilities in mice models of psychiatric disorders, such as hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In particular, I focused on the study of the impact of genetic mutations in different brain systems (dopaminergic, endocannabinoid and oxytocin system) involved in the development of psychiatric disorders. Thanks to this experience, I improved my skills and I learnt new procedures such us brain surgery. Because of my experiences, I learnt both to work independently, conducting my own experiments, and to work in team. Show less

During my lab experience, in Prof. Giusti's lab I was interested to investigate and understand mechanisms behind multiple sclerosis (MS). In particular, I set up the EAE model for MS (one of the most used model), and I started to evalueted the effects of specific treatments in the development of the disease. Thanks to this experience I acquired confidence in handle mice, performed behavioral tasks and practical procedures such as perfusion and pharmacological treatments.
