Gabriela started with the Milken Institute as a Marketing and Communications intern for the Institute’s annual Global Conference. Due to the global pandemic, the conference itself was hosted entirely online and required a dramatically different approach and adaptation from all of the staff, particularly for marketing and PR efforts. From the start of the internship, Gabriela jumped right in with an energetic eagerness to support the Marketing and Communications team in any capacity she could. She devoted 25+ hours a week to the prep, coverage, and post-event synthesizing of content from the conference, particularly lending her skills in social media, note-taking, and analysis. Although a tremendous asset with the skills she brought to bear, my favorite part of working with Gabriela was her energy and team-oriented spirit. She constantly encouraged and engaged with the other interns and staff members, providing insights and assistance where she could, both on a professional and personal level. She was autonomous with minimal direction, while still creating something innovative and useful. I would hire Gabriela again in a heartbeat and wish her all the luck in the world with her future endeavors.
