  While in the office, I communicated with potential donors and alumni to increase donations or implement a continued purchase of seasonal tickets. Fielding calls and sending out information about the Saint Louis University’s athletic teams involved me in the business aspect of athletics. This improved my interpersonal skills and gave me the confidence to effectively communicate my intentions for each outgoing call or email. I also worked at game events by providing tickets and checking-in persons on specialized lists. Working with my colleagues as I passed out these tickets allowed me to be open to constructive criticism and be part of a team. I learned to rely on others and how to acquire knowledge via observation of those with more practice and my own hands-on experience. From this experience, I honed the skills necessary to judge a situation and determine how to handle it while maintaining a pacific composure. These interactions taught me when to be unyielding and when to be open to compromise in order to get the best results. Show less
