The first time I met Gabby was in San Antonio, TX for the Cafecito, Cumbia, y Salud Mental event. It was her second full week in role role as promoter de salud for Zócalo Health. I was also on my second week and made the trip out to ensure Gabby has the support needed to lead a successful event. Together, we created space for ~40 members of the community to come together and speak openly about mental health. At Zócalo Health, Gabby’s work included participating in community events and then following up with leads she met at an event in order to share more. Additionally, Gabby brought her experience deploying marketing campaigns, including but not limited to creating a calendar, in order to engage people on Instagram. In my time working with Gabby, I was impressed by her active presence on team meetings, her willingness to learn new tools, and her commitment to support fellow members of her community.

Gabby is hard-working and brings great energy and enthusiasm to helping her community, whether through leading events, coordinating care, or helping others directly. Not only is she talented in building rapport and trust with others, but also she is quite talented at created amazing social media content within tight timelines. She brings a fun sense of humor to the team, is curious, and open to feedback. It is a pleasure to work with her, and she is a great addition to any team.
