Jan 2014 - Oct 2015
Key member of Global Seismic Processing Team (R&D) in charge of administering experimental and production seismic processing; testing prototype algorithms; and assessing challenging and unresolved datasets. Selected Accomplishments:*Near-surface velocity modeling: On-site expert for near-surface velocity modeling utilizing TomoPlus. Led unprecedented initiative to improve seismic image in shallow portion of seismic data for marine survey in Bul Hanine, Qatar. Applied first time technique used on marine data resulting in successful test. *Seismic Static Calculation: Successfully identified legitimate source of error in well ties to seismic by recreating seismic static calculation utilized by vendor preventing significant inaccuracies in future drilling in the Groningen Field, The Netherlands.* 2D Thrustbelt Seismic Processing: Led collaboration between Albania business units and Shell Core processing team to conduct blind test, demonstrating successful application of in-house workflow over previous contracted vendor work within contractional thrustbelt setting. * OBN Integration Research: Led breakthrough research to integrate 2D seismic streamer data with ultra deep OBN refraction data, offshore Australia, to build hybrid velocity model. Partnered with vendors to modify software to accommodate for ultra deep refraction travel-time tomography. Show less

2010 - 2013
Hired for expertise in Onshore Seismic Processing. Led seismic processing initiatives in various projects and locations, including China, Colombia, Colorado, Equatorial Guinea, Kurdistan, Indonesia, Iraq, Madagascar, and Nigeria. Selected Accomplishments: *Team Leadership; Supervised team of four on real-time seismic acquisition-processing projects in Kurdistan, Iraq to examine and fully process data from the field while ensuring fast turnaround times to ensure business impact. Coordinated with Seismic Acquisition and Operations Team as part of the Seismic Processing Core Group. *Simultaneous Seismic Acquisition and Processing: Developed and executed base 2D workflow to accommodate rapid well planning and execution in Kurdistan, Iraq. Collaborated across company functions to plan, implement and execute project. *Production: Collaborated with seismic processing and quantitative interpretations to reevaluate full 3D Marine Seismic survey in Equatorial Guinea to meet 4-day short-rig deadline, resulting in cancellation of deepwater NFW. *Project Management: Led contract and procurement process on first 3D Land seismic survey acquired in West Qurna, Iraq, the second biggest oil field in the world, and Saddam-era minefield. Partnered with seismic acquisition team to conduct planning and execution. Oversaw acquisition and contractor processing, using breakthrough techniques for seismic statics and multiple attenuations. *2D Thrustbelt Seismic Processing: Successfully reprocessed highly complex 2D onshore seismic surveys across Papua New Guinea thrustbelt. Resolved subsurface structures and drilling targets where prior vendors had failed and delivered seismic surveys to business unit culminating in successful exploration drilling campaign. *Contractor QA/QC: Led successful technology exchanges, seismic processing contracts and collaboration projects with various oil service companies, such as WesternGeco, Geomage, TBI, GeoTomo, BGP, TEEC and CGG. Led numerous projects including seismic processing contractor quality control, seismic interpretation, as well as processing and geophysical quantitative interpretation (steam conformance mapping, seismic inversion and 4D). *Innovation: Developed and applied unique workflow to test 3D post-stack migration noise reduction on 2 separate 3D seismic time surveys at Cold Lake, Canada. Results demonstrated that all previously acquired 3D time surveys would experience uplift via workflow in timely and affordable manner. *Vendor-Based Project QC: Led complex seismic processing contractor QA/QC for first crosswalk seismic survey acquired by Imperial Oil in Cold Lake Field, Canada. Positive results indicated need for further studies to fully assess data applications and integration with other sources of data. Show less
