At REAL ALLOY (then ALERIS) I was able to work in the pilot plant. We made aluminium alloy melts that were used for the Mercedes engine cases. My job was to make the melts (to determine the percentage of each alloy to be added to the aluminium), and I was also responsible for quality control of the alloy elements after the melt was placed in their respective crucibles.
