This is where I cut my teeth in Freight and realized I could do more than just set appts. I got paid a cash bonus if I was able to get someone to send a shipment, but I did not manage the relationship at all past the first shipment. Each cold call was made to ask if they had a live shipment I could quote and ship that day!

I applied to several places, but was the best option was Walmart Floor Associate. I started right away, and was quickly transitioned into cashiering and Jewelry sales. Interestingly enough, the Jewelry associate was also in charge of Piercing Ears! More than I bargained for, but soon after I was piercing ears each day. Since I was committed to buying a ring, I figured I would take a construction job that paid well. I did not plan on how hard I would need to work just to maintain my employment! However, I found out that Diamonds cost more than the $350 of cash that I saved up under my mattress from coaching baseball. Since I was committed to buying a ring, I figured I would take a construction job that paid well. I did not plan on how hard I would need to work just to maintain my employment! Up at 5 am and home at 7 PM 4 days a week of manual grunt labor (cutting sheets, carrying insulation on the rooftop, concrete spreading, etc.) I thought I had a good work ethic before starting this job, but I was wrong. It took some serious support from my Dad, but I eventually learned the value of hard work and walked away from this position with a great deal of pride and some extra cash in my pocket. Show less
