I worked as a Principle Standby for BBC Eastenders for a year with a short break between the end of April and mid July. My responsibilities included prepping costumes for characters and ensuring that they were set on time for the scene. Good communication with other teams who were filming alongside my own team to ensure that shared artists were in the correct costumes and that no items went missing. Continuity on set in a story day - checking with my supervisor that they are happy with how the artist looks and that the continuity is correct, this needed a good eye for detail. Reading scripts and being able to absorb any information that was relevant to our department and being prepared for this / these scenes. Solving issues on set which may involve other departments, being able to communicate effectively is key. Show less

I worked for Netflix/ Shondaland on Bridgerton season 3 for 2 months. This role required a level of sewing skills as I was altering garments that had often been altered multiple times already, which meant that the material may have been in worse condition / had been cut and was less easily altered. I improved a lot on my hand sewing as the production is based on period dress which would require much more hand finishing such as embellishments and hems. Communicating well with the fitting team and ensuring that alterations were accurate. Being able to make quick, unnoticeable repairs whilst on set if for example an embellishment fell off or a delicate fabric had been ripped. We had several staff illnesses throughout and at one point, I was the only member of my team available for a week due to Covid, however I was able to keep up well with the work load and prioritise efficiently. I worked as both a waitress front of house and as a back of house team member in the kitchen. I was trained in every role with potential progression into management. I chose not to progress as I wanted to go to University instead. I worked as both a waitress front of house and as a back of house team member in the kitchen.
