Guillermo and I worked closely together designing and building Migo - a system and service to support young people with their mental and emotional wellbeing. I watched Guillermo come alive with passion, purpose and drive to help solve this wicked problem. He brought great technical expertise, creative problem solving skills, and unfailing, contagious optimism to our team. Guillermo is a joy to work with and contributes so much to everything he works on.

Guillermo is a gifted teacher with a unique mix of patience, spunk and has quite a knack for IT . He taught me Agile course at Unitec for one semester, during which he explained the basics of how Agile works through simple and engaging exercises. He is a go-to lecturer on the faculty board when it comes to sone suggestion or an expert advice , and it’s thanks to him that I could master my Agile skills through his mentoring. As a faculty, he’s very accommodating and has a great force of passion and energy to what he teachers. I’m so glad I took the subject and am happy to recommend him.

Migo has been, as of today, my biggest opportunity to play an active role and do my part in helping people against a major mental health problem: Youth Suicide. We created Migo to answer the call to provide positive, empowering alternatives to standard mental health drugs and services. Migo is a combination of mood-aware technology, a social support system and a toolkit - to foster mental and emotional wellbeing, and self awareness. Nicola Holden, Emma Skellern, Maru Nihoniho, Brad Stillwell and I co-founded our start-up. We were one of 10 teams chosen out of hundreds to participate in the C-Prize 2017 - a tech accelerator programme supported by Callaghan Innovation. Show less
