Internship at The Youth Connection (TYC), Love Detroit Prevention Coalition (LDPC), Detroit MI • Conducted needs assessment for Chaldean community in the zip code 48203 around substance use concerns and providing Narcan training in Arabic. • Reached out to city of Detroit department (Department of transportation and department of public work) and invite them to participate in Narcan training. • Quantitative and qualitive data collection through surveys, questionnaire, and interview to determine the main reasons for Fentanyl related overdose and death in the 48203, 48205, and 48234 zip code. • Analyzed pre-test and post-test surveys from the Narcan training to determine training effectiveness and how comfortable participants are in utilizing Narcan in an overdose situation using different analytic software like SPSS and NVIVO. • Participated in community meetings to educate service providers and public about treatment options for opioid overdose. • Participated in DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) take back event to set up temporary drug collection sites in different communities in Detroit for safe disposal of prescription drugs. • Implemented substances use prevention programming and training in different schools in the 48203, 48205, and 48234 zip code and different communities.
