  Spent nine years at the Missoulian covering Montana Grizzly football, and the final two years taking on whatever came along. Attended three Division I Football championships, worked with three head coaches and wrote too many player features to count.

  Spent 11 years covering the more than 100 higher schools in Montana's lower classifications (A, B and C). The last two years in Billings I added Big Sky Conference athletics - the MSU Bobcats and Montana Grizzlies - to my responsibilities. I won three best column awards from the Montana Newspaper Assocation during that time, as well as a first place for best sports story. The state's largest newspaper sent me to roughly 40 state basketball tournaments and 20 state football championships. And I still miss the Eastern A. Show less
