- Supervise a team of 17 in the Employment department of Africa's largest law firm (www.ENSafrica.com) - Contributed to the firm's business strategy that saw the number of partners rise from 35 to 200 - Grew and developed the largest team in the Employment department - Engage with clients at multinational companies in several industries across Africa - Represent clients in cases related to employment policies and contracts, dismissal, data privacy issues, collective labor law issues, enforcement of restraint of trade agreements (restrictive covenants), and workplace restructuring - Consistently argue significant cases that receive favorable judgements in the South African Labor Appeal Court and Labor Court (see attachment for details) - Provide guidance to clients on collective employment and industrial relations issues at a strategic and practical level and assist clients in handling collective disputes notably to interdict and resolve strikes (see attachment for details) - Provide advice to auditing firms and the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors on the professional conduct of auditors and legal issues related to auditing including acting as pro forma prosecutor of auditors in prosecutions for professional misconduct - Manage commercial relationships with clients including business development, negotiation of appropriate fee arrangements, and fee collection - Authored articles related to new developments in Labor Law in cases and statutes that have appeared in the press, and contributed to Labor Law for Managers: A Practical Handbook used by Human Resources and line managers - Act as a key note speaker at the firm's annual labor law update seminar for clients in addition to addressing an international audience at the South African Labor Lawyers Association’s and International Bar Association event in Johannesburg Show less
