I also initiated greater emphasis on storytelling within our communications and am currently in the middle of our 65 Stories project to celebrate our 65th anniversary. In my first two years at Black Hills Works, I have successfully written applications meeting a plethora of needs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These include the National Endowment for the Arts, Wellmark Foundation, Clif Family Foundation, Rapid City MPO, South Dakota Dept. of Health, Delta Dental Foundation, Larson Family Foundation, South Dakota Arts Council, MDU Resources Foundation, Black Hills Energy, Black Hills Area Community Foundation, South Dakota Community Foundation, United Way of the Black Hills, KELOLAND Tradition of Caring, Rapid City Arts Council, South Dakota Housing, Walmart, U.S. Bank Foundation, Gwendolyn Stearns Foundation, and Elevate Rapid City. As a result, important needs have been met in the areas of transportation, construction of bocce ball courts, architectural design, electronics recycling, visual arts, theater arts, dental health, nursing equipment, advertising, software, technology, brain injury classes, sensory room equipment, kitchen equipment, and more. As part of a six-person development team, I also help with fundraising events, writing and editing fundraising communications, and anything else when needed! I continuously grow my skills through professional development and am a member of GPA. Show less
