PhD in Medical Sciences | MRC Cognition & Brain Science Unit | St Edmund's CollegeI use functional MRI and behavioural experiments to study the brain and cognitive mechanisms that underlie the control of unwanted memories. I am particularly interested in those moments in which a memory that we rather forget intrudes into awareness against our will. Using multivariate methods on fMRI data I aim to quantify the degree to which we are aware of a memory and locate the brain areas involved in reactivation and control of these involuntary memories.
