Burgerlords is a classic California-style burger joint, with one major difference: it’s completely vegan. Founder Frederick Guerrero and his team set out to create a burger patty made entirely in-house using only grains and vegetables inspired by the nostalgic garden-style burgers they grew up on. After years of research, taste testing and experimentation, they finally settled on the perfect recipe, and in 2020 the super-popular six-year-old restaurant — which had previously sold both vegan and non-vegan offerings — relaunched with a completely vegan menu. This isn’t your garden-variety veggie burger: with ingredients including barley, mushrooms, kombu, nuts, miso, and a slew of fresh vegetables and a special spice blend, this patty is an absolute umami bomb, packed with flavor. One bite and you’ll understand why it was named one of LA’s essential burgers by Eater LA and one of America’s best burgers by the Wall Street Journal. Show less

In conjunction with Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair, Slow Culture & Deadbeat Club are proud to launch the first iteration of an ongoing installation entitled: “The Fotomat” As an homage to drive thru Fotomats of yore, we will be re-creating a full functioning kiosk to be installed outside The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. All weekend long we will be offering 24 hour film developing services, film, custom photography accessories, zines and more. In addition to photo ephemera for sale, there will be guest clerk photographers selling limited edition prints exclusive to the booth. Our goal is to create an immersive, traveling installation aimed to both educate and celebrate the legacy of film photography. Show less

May 2013 - Present
Established August 2013, Slow Culture was founded as an independent art gallery located in the Northeast Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park. With an exhaustive schedule of programming, the gallery focused on developing a narrative of it’s own for nearly 4 years. From art shows, commercial collaborations, to International exhibits, an extensive range of projects were achieved. Fast forward to 2017, Slow Culture has permanently shuttered the doors to it’s physical location in Chinatown and is currently exploring new outlets to continue it’s original goal of supporting artists. One such example is "No Pressure." An online platform showcasing creative endeavors across all mediums within our network of peers. In it’s current iteration, we will be presenting a series of intimate studio visits in collaboration with photographer Aaron Farley. With this project, we hope to continue Slow Culture's tradition of cultivating community while introducing our audience to the creatives we believe are shaping today's cultural landscape. Show less
