  During my Master of Science at Imperial College London, I've spent 6 months working on bacteria feeding on oil in order to develop a new process to clean used water from refineries. Using both biology and chemistry, I improved a process involving anaerobic bacteria that consume oil component and produce methane. With polluted water, I was able to degrade the pollutant and to produce an energy source : methane.
