Appointed by Matagorda County Judge to hold the EMS Rep position. The SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC) was organized under the authority of the Texas Department of Health which was instructed by the 1989 Omnibus Rural Health Care Rescue Act. SETRAC is one of 22 Regional Advisory Councils (RAC) currently functioning within the State of Texas. SETRAC is a 501(C3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization. The primary function of the SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory Council is to provide stakeholder support through planning, facilitation, operations and the provision of technical assistance to the region for Preparedness, Trauma, Injury Prevention, Stroke, Cardiac and Pediatric services. SETRAC is the administrator of federal and state grant money for its stakeholders. SETRAC prepares our nine county regions for man-made or natural emergencies, disasters and mass casualty events. Likewise, our Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac and Pediatric committees work to establish standards of care and protocols for consideration/adoption by area hospitals, EMS agencies, and other providers. As a coalition, we foster collaboration to educate our communities, and to collectively deliver appropriate care with appropriately trained providers. Show less
