    • Executive Director/Superintendent
      • Mar 2010 - Present

In 2010, I took the helm of Davinci Academy--a small charter school consisting of 380 7-12 grade students in one building. Over the last 12 years, I have helped DaVinci blossom into a multi-campus K-12 small district with over 1250 students. I have worked diligently to create an environment where students felt empowered to try, make mistakes, and most of all learn. I have established a consistent vision and structure to enable our students to graduate DaVinci with a competitive advantage in post secondary readiness or career preparedness. Inside Davinci, my leadership created a culture that drew employees in, engaged them, trained them, and honored or incentivized their successes. These formalized programs were essential in the growth and success of Davinci Academy which directly impacted student learning and success. Show less

    • Utah State Board of Education -- UPPAC Hearing Officer
      • Aug 2011 - Jul 2016

From 2011 to 2016, I worked as a hearing officer for the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission (UPPAC). During that time I have conducted numerous reinstatement hearings where I presided over the hearing, ruled on administrative procedures, ensured that the process was followed correctly, and wrote the hearing report after consulting with the UPPAC panel members. I always came prepared either being current with all administrative rules/laws, or having reviewed the pre-hearing material to help facilitate the hearing process. Show less

    • Dean Of Students
      • Jul 2004 - Jul 2008

I moved quickly into education administration as I found I am very good at creating a school vision, and mentoring others to become great educators. I loved my time at West Briar Middle School. As Dean of Students, my role was to manage programs, mentor and train teachers, and handle student discipline issues. Under my leadership, we built a great community of students, parents, and educators. • High School Spanish Teacher and Wrestling Coach
      • Aug 2001 - Aug 2004

This was my first career job after graduating college. I was highly recruited by Texas schools bringing my love of learning and coaching skill set to this top notch suburban high school. While teaching Spanish and Coaching wrestling at Cinco Ranch High school I also completed my Masters of Administration in the evenings. I created innovative learning experiences in my Spanish classes and helped lead our wrestling team to a Region Championship and state bid. Those years in the trenches with students gave me valuable learning as I moved my career to the admin level. Show less
