The internship in the department Concern Staff / Public & European Affairs gave me an insight into the cross-border projects of the Dutch border town Enschede. In addition to general research activities, it was my task to present the opportunities and risks of a bilateral cooperation in the field of security between the Netherlands and Germany. At the European Week of Regions and Cities, I had the unique chance to speak to a European Councilor about this. During a university internship at the German National Tourist Board (dt. Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus), my responsibilities in the PR department were the search for relevant topics for newsletters, the organisation of events and press trips, as well as support in daily PR work. My great interest in international transport, traffic and aviation led me to a voluntary internship at Condor. There I got an insight into the internal communication of an airline within the security & safety department. My responsibilities included the evaluation of internal reports, communication with other departments regarding internal improvements as well as the creation of technical manuals.
