The goal of this project was to store large quantities of (binary) data in a database and add metadata to it so it was searchable. I have worked on both the client, server and database: creating RESTful APIs, implementing the up- and downloading of data, writing and optimizing database queries, implementing token based authentication using OAuth.Furthermore a custom version control system was designed and created to allow multiple user to collaborate in working on the same data.Activities- Designing and creating software components.- Picked up the role of PO during the absence of the original PO.Technologies.NET (Core), C#, WPF, WinForms, Rest, Swagger, OAuth, SQL (Server), WCF, Active Directory, Reactive (UX), DevExpress, SpecFlow, Unit testing, Dependency Injection Show less

Baker Hughes Incorporated creates value from oil and gas reservoirs with high-performance drilling, evaluation, completions and production technology and services, integrated operations and reservoir consulting. Their solutions are designed to lower costs, reduce risk or improve productivity for the global oil and gas industry. On this project I’ve worked on developing software used for visualizing, analyzing and manipulating formation testing (FT) data. Deciding if a location is suitable for drilling is the key purpose of the FT software. The software uses data from many different sensors that are used during the test-drilling process. The bulk of the is obtained from pressure buildup tests and/ or fluid sampling. This data is then processed using an array of algorithms and visualized using charts and tables. The user of the FT software is provided with a plethora of options to manipulate, filter and refine the data. The user input triggers recalculations and the updated information is again presented to the user. Based on this information a decision can be made on where and how to do the actual drilling. DSW is a Dutch health insurance company with over 530.000 clients. DSW successfully uses internally developed software applications to achieve a high level of efficiency. A lot of these applications are build using C# and WPF. I’ve worked on one of these applications: a WPF application that interacts with a SQL Server and a number of other applications using services. The application conforms to the MVVM design pattern. I’ve worked on all levels of the application: UI, business layer, database, etc. Technologies: - .NET 4.5 - C# - WPF - MVVM - DevExpress - SOA - CSLA .NET - SQL Server Show less

Stichting Vrienden Safaripark Beekse Bergen en Dierenrijk is a non-profit organization. Their main goals are to create awareness raise awareness regarding the importance of wildlife conservation and to raise money to support a number of wildlife conservation programs. One of the main ways for SVS to raise money is through an adoption program. Individuals or companies can ‘adopt’ an animal from either Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek or Dierenrijk in Nuenen by paying a yearly adoption fee. These fees are then distributed among the conservation programs. In return the so called ‘adoption parents’ are invited once a year to one of the parks and are giving a behind the scenes tour by the caretaker of their adopted animal. The adoption program is very successful and a lot of administration is involved. Since the organization only works with volunteers the handling of all tasks related to the adoption program need to be as efficient and easy as possible. Therefore I’ve developed a web application from the ground up to handle all tasks involved. The web application consists of two parts: a back end for handling the adoption administration and a front end for letting people register as adoption parents. The web application is build using C#, ASP.NET MVC 5. The data is stored in a MS SQL Server database and accessed by using Entity Framework. This project was undertaken pro bono. For this startup I’ve been working on a configurator solution. The solution consists of a configurator studio application and the actual configurator. The configurator studio application allows a user to create a configuration model. This model can be loaded in the configurator so an end user can configure it through either a web application. I’ve worked mostly on the configurator studio application which is a C#, WPF application. Furthermore I’ve developed a field service scheduling application which integrates with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013. The application allows tasks to be easily assigned to resources on a specific time slot. The scheduling application is an ASP.NET MVC 5 application. The client has developed a suite of applications that is used worldwide for supporting both sales and the back office. On this project I've worked within a relatively small team of developers on both the frontend and backend of these applications. The application I worked on most is used for sales support. It runs on Windows 8 tablets and can be controlled using both keyboard/mouse and touch. Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is used for the UI and the business logic is implemented using C#. Furthermore It uses XNA to support 3D modeling. Apart from bug fixing current functionality and designing and implementing new functionality I refactored the whole application from code behind to MVVM using the MVVM Light framework. Since this is not a native Windows 8 application MahApps was used for a Windows 8 look and feel. Other applications work closely with the sales support application. Their tasks range from order processing to a full blown configurator used for designing product components to configure the final product in the sales support application. They run either on Windows 7 workstations or Windows servers. All applications use Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) to communicate with one another. Technologies: - .NET 4.0 - C# - WPF - MVVM Light - WCF - XNA - Windows 7, 8 - touch - MahApps Endorsement: Frank has been a great addition to our project team. He has contributed significantly in the development of one of our biggest applications. Frank has shown that he knows his stuff and he is strong in both design and implementation. The thing I personally appreciate about Frank is his open and professional approach. He is really interested in getting the best out of something and is not afraid to speak up. I would certainly contract Frank again in the future. Director ICT Show less
