  • Working as part of the Maintenance, Repairs and Operations Stores team, the role consisted of issuing and accepting returns of engineering spare parts, organizing and delivery essential production consumable items, engaging with employees as customers, running the employee shop when required. • Additional projects included reorganization of engineering parts to ensure optimal location, determination and labelling of stores bin locations, engaging in cycle counting activities to ensure records were accurate and updating information on stock control software following cycle counts to ensure automatic reordering occurred as necessary. • Complete necessary training on the relevant system, including GMP, Manual handling and stores specific training. • Engaged in A3 problem solving activities to address stores stock outs. • This placement allowed me to learn about engineering spare parts and the background work that enables the correct spare to be available to the engineering team when they need it. I also gained an awareness of other non-engineering parts and supplies that are essential to the running of the plant and how their availability or otherwise can affect engineering outcomes. Show less
