After an 3 year apprenticeship as aircraft mechanic I started at LHT 1987 as aircraft mechanic for B737-200 & -300, B727, DC10 and later A320, A340, B747-200. After several type trainings I passed the examination and got the approval as certifying staff in 1993 for Airbus A320. After additional trainings I got approval for B737CL, A340-300 one year later. The work included major component changes like flight controls and engines and certification of C-Checks. Part of the job was also being the responsible maintenance person for C-check layovers for airline and VIP customer aircraft including modification packages. In 2004 I converted the LHT license to an EASA CAT B1.1 and CAT C license. However due to grandfather rights this license is limited to C-Check level.
