At SK&A, my previous responsibilities involve construction management and CA services for each project. As a part of the Repair and Restoration Team, I have worked on projects involving reinforced concrete repairs, facade repairs, building envelope renovations, waterproofing, tenant build outs, mechanical retrofits, and expansion joint replacement. Within these projects, I have worked along every step of the process from proposal writing to the final punch list to wrap up the project. Writing has become a significant part of my responsibilities in the Repair and Restoration Division of the SK&A Group. Specifications, Request-For-Pricing (RFPs), Bid Reviews, Condition Surveys, Site Visit Reports, Progress Meeting Minutes, Load Assessment Reports, and Punch List Reports are most of the documents that I either review, revise, or compile.Additionally, I conduct multiple site visits a month which includes coordinating meetings with the project manager and contractors on-site. Also, I write reports detailing site visits and what specific courses of action the contractor needs to take to resolve any issue during the repair process. Site visits include performing condition surveys, facade surveys, or a general check-in on the status of the on-going repairs. Show less

My previous responsibilities involved designing low-rise multi-family apartments, assembly buildings such as chapels, mechanical support framing projects, retaining walls, and flat plate (podium slab) design. When our company received shop drawings, I reviewed the design (formwork, roof trusses, etc.) and checked for any deviations. I conducted multiple site visits a month which included coordinating meetings with the project manager and framing contractors on-site. Also, I wrote reports detailing site visits and what specific courses of action the contractor needed to take to resolve any issue during construction. For our coordination, viability, and final submissions, I would meet with the architect and design team to incorporate the owner's preferences and work out conflicts with the Civil, Architect, Geotechinal, and Construction Representatives. I also modified and tweaked the project specifications to ensure that they met code and our companies' design preferences. This position involved the development and compression testing of a prestressed 30 ton section of an outer reactor wall. The wall's purpose is to usually house the turbine, condensors, heaters, or to serve as the concrete shielding for the reactor. I assisted, Bradley Dolphyn, a PhD student who was performing this research for Dr. Kimberly Kurtis and Dr. Lawrence Kahn. My responsibilities included the removal of the previous wall section that did not provide adequate results, the construction of the form-work for the second wall, the construction of the reinforcing cage and tie-in of all rebar and steel plates, the placement of all fiber optic strain and temperature gauges, and the prestressing of the concrete. This job is purely for academic credit and experience with heavily reinforced concrete. The purpose of the research was to investigate the potential causes of long-term degradation in the concrete using non-destructive testing. Show less

WIllmer Engineering is a firm which provides civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering services for Fulton County and its surrounding neighbors. I was an intern working as an assistant office manager. I received calls from clients who wish to start a new project with Willmer and kept a call log on record. Field Reports and Test Logs are reviewed from the Engineering Technicians who go on-site for accuracy, clarity, and uniformity. These reports are then sent to the Technician manager who does QA/QC on the adjusted reports. Test cards for grout cubes and concrete cylinders were also reviewed by myself and the information from the curing cite and the lab testing are entered into the companies' database for all tested specimens. Once the information is entered, a report is compiled of the cube or cylinder's profile and the results of the lab test. These reports are also reviewed by the Technician manager before the results are sent to the client. Show less

At Saratoga, I have been able to serve at many events at the East Cobb Location including off-premise events. We begin the event by setting up our serve tables and bar areas. At times, setting requires some improvisation depending on what type or color tablecloths, risers, and floral arrangements we have available. After setting up, I pass horderves to the local guests whether it be champaigne or an appetizer. I am also designated as a replenisher which entails making sure that there is enough food for the guests and notify the chef in the back if there needs to be more prepared. At the same time, I alternate between removing dirty dishes and glasses from the guests table and watching my designated serving station. There is plenty of interaction between the guests and I especially when passing horderves or removing dishware and glassware from the tables. Show less

The subject of this research involved the seismic assessment of retrofitted non-ductile reinforced concrete frames. For this research project, Dr. Desroches of the Georgia Tech Research Staff in the Civil Engineering division has taken on a specific seismic testing project for the 4th section of the concrete structure at the Structures Lab on campus. My tasks were specifically delegated by Pablo Vega-Behar, Desroches' Grad Student. I was responsible for the setting up of the cross-bracing elements of the research project. This includes concrete-core drilling using a hammer drill, the placement of the anchor threads and nuts for the Wide Flanged Beams, grinding of the concrete slab for the placement of the massive shakers on the top floor, and the placement of all measuring instruments such as LVDTs, Displacement Potentiometers, and Accelerometers. The project specifically used a memory shaped alloy that resists residual strain that is usually experienced by steel members. The goal of the test was to reach a 4% strain capacity within the MSA. This was achieved by attaining a total sway displacement of approximately 30 inches. Show less

I receive floor plans and elevations from various architects in the Walton County Area and take the drawings and provide structural floor plans, foundations, roof plans, and section views of the house. We discuss with the architect what kind of designs they would like to incorporate and we ensure that the designs can be structurally sound. The architects we work closely with also do projects within the Virgin Islands or in the metro Atlanta area in addition to Walton County. I have particular experience in roof framing design. Which entails determining by the architectural drawings whether we are stick framing the roof or using a pre-engineered roof truss system. I have also worked with concrete design which includes CMU, cast-in-place, auger-cast-in-place Piles (ACIP), arched columns, and reinforced slabs. In addition to doing structural design, I am responsible for designing the retention plans for residential housing. The particular types we may use are Swales, exfiltration systems, and French Drain systems. Show less

Updated pencil-drawn plot plans for a refinery in Pascagoola, MS to AutoCAD drawings for a site-wide environmental assessment. Drew up piping schematics for multiple plants in the refinery mentioned above. Sketched out as built drawings by going on-site and measuring out the dimensions of the house. Then converted the pencil sketch to an AutoCAD drawing for renovation. Updated pencil-drawn plot plans for a refinery in Pascagoola, MS to AutoCAD drawings for a site-wide environmental assessment.
