Someone once described what I did as "complex and boring," but I love working in the Medicare Secondary Payer space and being able to help organizations navigate the complexity of this area of compliance. Medicare Secondary Payer has evolved extensively over the last thirteen years and will continue to do so as we see CMS tie together the differing areas of Section 111 reporting, conditional payments and Medicare Set Asides. This evolution has brought the data of the Section 111 processes to the center of attention, and the accuracy of this data will be seen in recovery efforts and the ever looming Civil Money Penalties rulemaking.
