PLM Data Solutions is a partnership between several experienced PLM services companies. The founding members have over 60 years of successes in automotive, aerospace, electronics, mechanical and plant engineering through collaboration with many of the leading PLM solution providers. In addition to performing large and medium sized PLM data conversions, I develop reusable tools to support these activities. I also develop data validation processes to help verify the quality of a conversion process. The key elements that I emphasize in all of my conversions are accuracy, transparency, performance, and repeatability. Accuracy is achieved though thorough testing and evaluation of the converted data by people who are familiar with the data. Transparency means that the converted data looks like it has been in the target system for 10 years, and functions just like data that was originally created in the target system. It is as close to native data as we can get it. Performance of the conversion process is emphasized from the beginning, and is evaluated continuously. This attention to detail allows conversions of very large databases with minimum down time and minimum disruption to business operations. Repeatability is achieved through automation of as much of the process as possible. Minimizing human intervention minimizes the number of places where critical errors can be made.
