Quick update with the new year (2022) upon us. It's been nearly SIX years since I joined Mihai Popovici and the Z-Terra team as a Business Development consultant. The new year seems to be showing signs of life in the E&P business. We continue to work with our clients as we have in the past and provide them with timely results on their projects. In December 2019 Z-Terra acquired the Calgary based Data Processing center from Divesco - now called Z-Terra North. Dan Negut and his team are very busy with international projects primarily in Latin America. It continues to be a pleasure to work with highly motivated and skilled geoscientists who strive to develop new ideas and software to improve the earth images we provide to our customers! Z-Terra brings many innovative solutions to seismic data processing. In addition to a full suite of Time and Depth imaging tools, they have developed Diffraction Imaging processing which uses diffracted energy to better image faults and discontinuities. We continue to develop new techniques to leverage the DI results for better seismic data fault resolution and visualization. Drop me a message if you would like to know more about how Z-Terra can help improve your complex imaging problems. We have great examples from many fields around the world where DI techniques have helped better define reservoir images. I continue volunteering for Geophysical Society of Houston (Webinars, Symposium) and at the Geoscience Center. We welcome any and all geophysicists at the center where you can share stories, look at "vintage" equipment and browse through a growing Geophysical library (books, reviews, magazines). I will be more than happy to assist friends, colleagues and customers "in transition" look for new positions now more than ever! Show less

My most enjoyable consulting time at DUG has come to an end. DUG has established itself as one of the fastest growing Data Processing and Software technology companies in the Geophysical Services industry. I wish the company continued success as they expand their footprint and activity in Houston! My most enjoyable consulting time at DUG has come to an end. After witnessing yet another downturn in our industry, what better time could there be to jump in and participate in the turnaround that will inevitably come. The E&P service companies will come out of this with better, faster and more cost effective technologies to help find the hydrocarbon energy reserves that the world will still need for years to come.
