Later he joined the National Technical University of Athens where he is currently professor of lighting. He is the head of the lighting laboratory. He has coordinated 31 projects and participated in other 16, funded by various private companies, the European Union and the public sector. Some of the subjects of these projects are: 1) Design of lighting installations, 2) Lighting control systems, 3) Energy saving in lighting installations, 4) Utilization of daylight for energy saving, 5) Solar photovoltaic systems for street lighting, 6) Lighting measurements on roads and tunnels, 7) Human vision at street lighting levels), 8) Discharge lamps for outdoor lighting, 9) Energy audits of wind farms, small hydroelectric plants, photovoltaic systems, passive solar systems, cogeneration installations, biomass systems and energy saving installations, 10) Quality assurance of equipment for lighting installations, 11) Design of lighting products for manufacturers of lighting equipment, 12) Monitoring of environment and atmosphere pollution, 13) Feasibility studies for quality assurance laboratories and technological parks, 14) Development of new departments in Central European countries for the education in energy, manufacturing metrology and industrial engineering. He has published 49 papers in international journals, 8 papers in technical brochures and 86 papers in conference proceedings. He is also author of 7 books on lighting and electrical measurements.
