Francisco is definitely a great person to be with on the same team. He always strives to create a friendly working environment around him where everyone is encouraged to give constructive feedback and be open-minded towards ideas brought forward by fellow team members. What I appreciated the most when collaborating with Francisco is that nothing seemed to be too big of a problem for him and no obstacle appeared to be too grand not to be overcome. While on the same Committee during the academic year 2020/2021, I got to know Francisco as a superb team player, problem-solver, and overall a great person to work with.

At the South African Honorary Consulate in Porto, my job was to assist with consular activities: I manage the legalisation of documents such as marriage certificates, school or university transcripts, driver’s licences, and ID cards for South African citizens in Portugal. My tasks also included assisting South African and Portuguese citizens with the required documentation to enter South Africa and Portugal by renewing passports. I raise awareness in matters under the scope of UNICEF through the creation of content for the posts on social media, through writing blogposts (Forced Labour, Yemen Crisis, South Sudan refugees, Aboriginal Australian Stolen Generation) and by organising lectures on relevant topics with highly specialised speakers (i.e. Holocaust lecture) as well as creating content for the UN International Days with the aim to raise awareness on a specific topic (i.e. World Immunisation Week, International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, World Day Against Child Labour, etc.).
