Franchise manager for our tuition centres in the Midlands: • My work incorporates many roles: market research; franchise recruitment; ensuring compliance standards are met; facilitation of training (both for new colleagues and product improvement for clients) and instruction of children in our specialised worksheet programmes. • Supporting the company in its goal to maximise market penetration via effective deployment of targeted advertisement campaigns, all aimed at reducing skill gaps in the local community. • As a primarily contact-based business, following COVID-19 I was involved with the design and distribution of new remote-based learning opportunities. I proactively led the learning and development activities for my colleagues, instructors and customers Show less

Part-time employment in popular destination pub: • Variety of quiet weekday shifts to manage the pub alone, and fast-paced shifts serving over 120 customers at any one time in a team of 5-6 members. • Long, busy shifts have refined my capability to remain calm and focused on multitasking several duties as well as maintaining an amicable customer service manner. • I managed the training of new members of staff, ensuring that standards were kept uniform and communication remained smooth even during our busiest times. One-year contract teaching English to primary-aged children: • I communicated with Japanese teachers in both Japanese and English to discuss delivery of lesson plans, and to improve our teamwork during class time. • Seeing my students flourish in confidence through my teaching sparked my desire to pursue learning and development leading to my nomination as Head Judge of a local English-speaking contest, where I gave the closing speech to contestants and audience. For three weeks I undertook work experience at a French hotel. Utilising my French language ability, I worked with the staff to keep the breakfast buffet stocked and to ensure evening meals were delivered smoothly and without confusion. I also gained experience in administration. Whilst speaking French, I took and managed bookings; I dealt with customer and staff enquiries simultaneously. I carried out my duties in coordination with other staff members to ensure orders were processed and food and drinks were delivered promptly; our teamwork also ensured information regarding shortages and changes in the menus was communicated. I improved my ability to make conversation with customers, as well as to politely discuss customer complaints and provide service beyond expectations.
