  During my work at the Ask.com R&D Office in Pisa, I worked on a variety of different projects. I was involved in both the Image and News search.For the Image Search, my job was to create and write algorithms for the processing and features extraction.For the News Search, I was one of the developers and maintainers of the crawler/extractor for videos.During my work activity in Ask, I wrote a large number of internal tools, many of them to have a 24/7 monitoring and alert of our distributed processing system.Moreover, I was involved into the maintenance of various libraries that I contributed to grow, speed up and correct. These libraries covered various aspects of Ask activities: text processing, communications libraries and full server applications maintenance.Another aspect of my work was the prototyping of new algorithm and features, this involved the building of (simple) web interfaces for the presentation and the analysis of the experimental results.
