Together with a fellow colleague and friend, Italian journalist Arianna Scarnecchia, I worked as a sound designer for the creation of a 5 part audio documentary focusing on the effects of the Vaia storm on the forest of Paneveggio, world renowned for providing wood for stradivari violins and for some of the finest instruments in the world.   Production type: two 25min audio music documentaries for the National Italian Swiss Radio-television (RSI) I worked as a sound designer on a radio documentary production created together with a fellow colleague (Italian journalist Arianna Scarnecchia) focusing on the disastrous effects of the Vaia storm (aka storm Adrian) on the forest of Paneveggio, a world renowned forest whose wood has been used to create stradivari Violins and is still used to create some of the finest instruments in the world.   I worked as an intern for the film production company Video Power based in Maastricht. Throughout the internship I covered a number of different roles in the film production chain, from pre-production, to production, to post-production and distribution. Pre-production: • Met with filmmakers to talk about different approaches to filming and developing their ideas • Discussed potential difficulties and proposed effective solutions for them • Gave advice and guidance on the equipment to use for the shooting, whether this was a camera, a lenses or a portable recorder or microphone Production: • Worked as a sound engineer on a number of Video Power film productions • Worked as a backstage photographer, documenting the unfolding of the film project at hand. The pictures I have taken have been used as promotional material by Video Power and artists themselves. Have also worked as the official photographer for Video Power's public events. • Contributed to direction of photography on occasion Post-production: • Oversaw and gave advice on montages made by filmmakers • Did a montage from footage collected during Bring Your Own Beamer, an event organised by Video Power and the Jan Van Eyck academy based in Maastricht, which took place during the city's museum night. The video has been featured on both the Video Power and Jan Van Eyck facebook page and was well appreciated by representants of the art academy. Distribution: • Distributed Video Power film productions, curating contacts with the filmmakers and ensuring their film was submitted to the film festival which best fit their work. • Curated contacts with film festivals, ensuring the necessary paperwork was filled in and provided the video files needed. • Some of the films submitted were successfully accepted by film festivals and screened during the event.
