Computer Vision Research Assistant

Social robotics research project that extended my honours project "On the Fly One-Shot Object Recognition with Siamese Networks". The primary goal was to develop a robot agent that exhibits socially intelligent behaviour while interacting in a face-to-face context with human partners.I developed a novel framework for robot concept acquisition by combining one-shot learning with active learning. In this framework, a robot learns new visual concepts on the fly from a single example through performing collaborative tasks with humans. As part of the experience, I developed the computer vision AI, the collaborative framework for the Nao robot, co-wrote a paper (read it here: https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3434074.3447160), carried out interviews and ran experiments.
