I planned and executed all of the marketing and communications for the commercial arm of King’s College London Student’s Union. This included three bars, two cafes and an online store spread across two campuses across central London. I worked closely with the Commercial Managers and Director and then coordinated the work of the design team, web team and social media team to deliver effective and focused marketing campaigns. I produced detailed campaign plans to help projects be run smoothly and to the highest standard. I wrote interesting and engaging copy for newsletters, social media and the website. I directed photo and video shoots to produce original and exciting content for social media campaigns and other marketing materials. Other ad hoc tasks included compiling the weekly internal newsletter, proof reading the annual report and advising students when necessary.

I created bespoke marketing content for customers for my appointed account manager, including posters and copy; screensavers and home mailers. I logged and monitored the marketing budget and collated statistics for account managers to monitor and review the progress of their customers. I updated certain parts of the website and created bespoke landing pages. I produced photography work for social media platforms, which lead to some of the most organically liked content on the pages, posters and the internal intranet. I liaised with other teams within the business as well as external suppliers and built strong working relationships; enabling tasks to be completed efficiently and smoothly. The main part of my role was organising and attending events where I spoke with customers face to face in an informative and engaging way to drive logins to the website.

    • Marketing Assistant
      • Sep 2017 - Mar 2018

My role involved supporting the commercial, services and digital teams within the department. I collated and scheduled the weekly internal digital newsletter, maintained the vents section of the website, updated the digital screens regularly, contacted external companies to obtain quotes and managed the marketing inbox. I also aided in composing original and engaging posts for social. One of my biggest successes Autumn Student Trustee election which received 70% increase in votes. I was responsible for proof reading important documents, such as the Annual Report, and weekly newsletters which were sent to the whole student body. I also analysed data from the Annual Student Survey to be presented publicly by the SU. My favourite aspect was creating video content for campaigns, most notably a supporting video for the Varsity campaign which became the most viewed video posted this year.

    • Receptionist and Ambassador
      • Apr 2017 - Sep 2017

I was the first port of call to anyone entering the union and therefore the ‘face’ of the organisation. I dealt with enquiries effectively from both students and members of the public; organised room bookings and liaised with other departments to ensure smooth running of the union. I dealt with transactions and performed opening and closing cashing up procedures correctly and in an efficient manner. As I manned the desk alone, I had to use my own initiative, solve problems and communicate effectively with other departments for assistance where necessary. I also acted as an ambassador for the SU. This involved manning stalls at welcome events, speaking to large groups of students to engage them and enable them to become involved in everything the union offered.
