Architectural assistant to Tchaik Chassay. I was lucky enough to be involved with the refurbishment and redevelopment plans for Whiteley’s and Queensway alongside property developers SIAHAF and architects Dixon Jones. Work generally consisted of RIBA stages 1-3 feasibility studies. I ran my own project concept design for a site on Portobello Road, that was to be of mixed B1 usage. I have worked freelance for a number of firms on various residential projects in London and the UK. Some of this work includes work for the architects: Maxwell Hutchinson, Day One Architecture, Atmos Studio, GMZ Architecture and more directly with clients including Conport Structures. This often entail the survey, planning application and project management of mostly small scale residential developments. Here I concentrated on gaining as much varied experience as possible. I worked on residential projects as well as commercial, including: Westbourne Road Byron Burger; a project for the London Festival for Architecture; and produced concept designs for Just Falafel in Covent Garden. The work included initial general scheme designs, initial lighting/decoration designs, computer modelling and sketching on Vectorworks as well as physical modelling. Oct 2011 - May 2012
Graduate Structural Design Engineer. I worked directly with the managing director on various UK refurbishment and new-build projects. Each project I was involved with required scheme design, CAD sections plans and elevations, hand sketches of connections, calculations, Prokon modelling and structural 3-D modelling. I ran two projects: Channel View in Dungeness (with Latitude Architects) and Sebastian Street, London (Paul Archer Design). The project admin included site and design team meetings, organising ground investigations as well as researching construction methods, writing/editing reports and specifications. Additionally I wrote lecture material on Structures for students studying Architecture RIBA Part 1 at Central Saint Martins.
