Investigation into the mechanical role of FERM protein FRMD6/Willin in the oncogenic Hippo signalling pathway in a neuronal cell model using optical methods. During my research I used cell culture and protein techniques to study the intracellular behaviour of Willin, became principle user of the Nikon super-resolution SIM microscope, developed a microscope-integrated laser optical trap, gained experience using MATLAB for analysis of large data sets, and collaborated in a multi-disciplinary study to examine the effects of Willin expression on cellular forces.
