Food safety is my primary concern. This kitchen is a quick prep, heat and serve kitchen. We served breakfast and lunch. During the summer school session we serve between 60-100 students. This changes in August to serve between 400-600 students, depending on enrollment. I help with receiving, dating, freezing/refrigerating, or storing food and supplies, cleaning/sanitizing food contact surfaces, temperature safety, heating foods to correct temperature, serving foods, cafeteria monitoring, interaction with children, tray service and clean-up, individually wrapping ready-to-eat foods, sanitizing fomites, milk/juice service. This is only a partial list.

Natural Bulk Foods
-
Apr 2013 - Aug 2013
I enjoyed packing, sealing, and nutritionally labeling bulk foods and natural foods while practicing FIFO, Sanitation methods, and sharing my "student" health knowledge with store customers. Now I am back into full-time classwork with preparations for my upcoming May 2014 Graduation with my BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Andrews University. After that I will begin my graduate level coursework to finish an MPH with a nutrition emphasis.
