  I have assisted Dr Amy Then Yee Hui, Senior Lecturer of University of Malaya, in the literature review and report writing of the project "Preliminary Assessment for a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Kuching and Sadong, Sarawak, Malaysia". In this project, I have gain valuable insight to the management and conservation of marine wildlife in the international level. I have carried out extensive studies on the management of marine wildlife in Florida, USA; Tubbataha, the Phillipines; Cabo Pulmo, Mexico; and Misool Island, Indonesia. Show less

  In the internship program, I have involved in the operations of a government veterinary services department. I have gained insight and exposure to all divisions of PPVDP which include the Veterinary Health Division, Industrial Development Division, Regulatory Division, and Management and Services Division. My tasks in the Veterinary Health Division involved assisting in diagnosis, treatments and surgeries of domesticated animals. I have also assisted in surveillance programs whereby we carry out site visits to inspect animals and livestock for diseases. In the Industrial Development Division, I have learnt the responsibilities of the organization to help provide services in production of livestock. Tasks involved included the inspection of veterinary products, the inspection of cattle barns, and the registration of farmers. In the Regulatory Division, I had the opportunity to participate in operations to investigate the welfare of animals. I have had hands on experience in managing cases of animal cruelty and negligence which is valuable for me to understand the procedures that were involved in the management of animal welfare. In the Management and Services Division, I have learnt a lot about the management of official documents of a government department. Show less
