Florentino is a true example of a leader; he is incredibly hard-working, devoted, empathetic, and motivates his team to always strive for more. Having worked with him very closely to promote the Licensing Round and the CCS plan offshore Timor-Leste, I've seen how under his command, the team modernised their management and work flow, received consistent training, and developed new solutions to old problems. An excellent strategist, will always come up with a tailored feasible plan and communicate it very clearly to his partners and team, with his professional passion for the energy sector and his country to be an inspiration. His knowledge of modern management and leadership tools, and his growth mindset, have been key to the success of the Round and to the transformation of the ANPM team.

I have known Florentino since 2005 both professionally and personally. Professionally I have seen him work long hours and putting everything to ensure programs such as the DFAT funded Ministry of Planning and Finance Capacity Development Program (MPFCDP) were always provided with the most accurate and speedy translations. I am still in awe with Mr Ferreira's for doing simultaneous interpreting at the Ministry of Finance -a huge range of topics which required knowledge about the subjects and technical terminology- and all of this when there were many few English language speakers in Timor-Leste and also as English is Mr Ferreira's third language. He is one of the shining lights of what I call the change generation, a number of future young Timorese leaders with great potential. Mr Ferreira's skills, effort and determination got him scholarships at highly recognised universities such as the University of Western Australia (UWA) and another recognised university in the United States. He is well respected by government and private sector. He is well regarded by his Geology lecturers at UWA. I can see Mr Ferreira furthering his academic career without lack of offers from these institutions. Personally, I look forward to working with him again but this time for him, because I know he will make a great professional leader.
