This is a one year additional work through funding from European Union. We developed a project named Brothers Rising for Others or BROS. It aims to raise the awareness of boys on gender equality thereby being more respectful towards girls and women. Having education, gender awareness training and advocacy campaigns as interventions, the program believes that boys can be effective agents of change. The objectives of the program are:1) change the knowledge, attitudes and practices of 300 young boys and girls ages 12-18 (specifically that of 150 boys on GBV and gender equality through peer education, mentoring and advocacy.2) conduct at least 4 public GBV advocacy campaigns in two communities using KYD volunteer and participants3) conduct 12 separate training, Action-Reflection-Action dialogues and celebration and campaigns in Otjozondjupa Region (Okahandja and Otjiwarongo. Through baseline, we were able to get results on:* Increased knowledge of self and own sexuality*Increased advocacy by boys for other people to respect girls' rights* Heightened determination to raise awareness on gender issues and violence* Extensive knowledge of ARH sexual risk taking, teenage pregnancy, child-friendly health services, alcohol abuse and HIV and AIDS* Decreased perception of male participants on acceptance of 'passion killing' (so they call here)* Increased sharing of household chores with females.I managed 4 peer educators and developed the facilitators manual and participants' journal Show less

The objectives of the project is to equip 45 young and old women with skills specifically on dressmaking course, to eventually increase their household income.
