I got to know Floor back in 2015 as the passionate Chesterfield brand manager of the Benelux brand team. During her assignment on the brand, she grew Chesterfield to an all-time high share and volume in the Netherlands. In all her enthusiasm & passion for the brand, Floor managed to engage the team both locally & internationally to develop a local Chesterfield activation program centered on the Amsterdam Pride event, which was the first LGBT project of its kind within PMI. Indeed, I use Floor's Chesterfield Pride project as an example in a presentation I share internally on the subject of "Courageous Leadership" to inspire other employees to think boldly. Floor should be very proud--in a conservative environment like PMI, she made a major difference through her creativity and perseverance.

In my role as Global Head of D&I, I appreciated Floor’s passion and drive in raising the profile of D&I, and specifically LGBTQ+ inclusion, on the agenda of the local management team when she was working at PM Benelux. In addition to mobilizing her colleagues in the Benelux, Floor also involved others from different PMI affiliates and different levels of the organization. Floor used Pride Amsterdam as a first stepping stone to give more momentum to the D&I movement in her Benelux affiliate, following which Floor ran reflection workshops with colleagues & guest speakers in order to create a more integrated inclusion plan.
