Observation and identification of cetaceans, ad libitum transept survey, Logger, Photo-ID, behavior and acoustic protocols. • Data collection follows an interdisciplinary approach and applies different methods to describe different aspects of the life of cetaceans. The objectives of the project can be summarized as follows: - estimate the degree of residency of cetaceans in the study area; - estimate the size and trends of populations; - examine the social structure of the different populations; - examine the use and distribution of habitats; - estimate the impact of both fishing operations and vessel traffic; - describe the acoustic repertoire of the different species. • Collaborate with Research Managers (ROs) in data collection, data entry and equipment maintenance. • Confidence with Pamguard 2.01.04 software for passive acoustic monitoring • Cover the role of the logistic manager and the galley • Learn the operation of the ship, the maneuvers to navigate such as wheelhouse, hoist and strike the sails, collaborate during mooring • Help participants and volunteers with any of their needs. • Scientific dissemination: hints of Cetaceology Show less
