Delivering a level of customer service in line with the company’s values across the Cold Deli, Hot Deli and Meat and Fish Counters- tailoring my service depending on the client. I ensure the counters meet food safety standards by carrying out temperature and code checks. I pay attention to detail such as by classifying waste correctly to reduce SHRINK for the business, use my initiative by planning ahead i.e. replenishing stock ready for key trading hours and prioritise my workload depending on business needs. During this intense 2 day programme at the London HQ and Rotterdam HQ, I gained insight into 4 key finance areas: Mergers & Acquisitions, Supply Chain Finance, Business Partnering and Financial Controlling. I worked as a team of 4 to analyse case studies in each respective area and present recommendations to employees from various financial teams. This was a paid teaching position where I taught material for the first year module ‘Linear Algebra 2’. To teach the subject required a deep working knowledge of the module content, which I took on alongside my final year studies. Through teaching I refined the skill of explaining complex problems and mathematical theory to others.

I collected data on behalf of the Higher Education Statistics Agency for the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey. The role required me to lead professional conversations and employ useful persuasive techniques due to difficult interviewees or the sensitivity of the information I was requesting. I have become a strong, assertive and professional communicator as a result, and understand the importance of accuracy when collecting data. I also undertook Data Entry for the final stages of the role. Show less

I worked under pressure on a production line to meet hourly targets- packaging Christmas gift sets to be sold in the UK’s leading pharmaceutical retailer. Meeting our target was vital in order for profitability and for the company to retain contracts. Within 2 weeks of working here I was given responsibility of 6 colleagues in times of short staffing, whereby I delegated tasks in order to improve team performance, as well as handling problems on the line.
