I would highly recommend Fiona to anyone who is seeking an enthusiastic and intelligent member of a team in the marketing communications field. Fiona and I worked together to create and maintain the Canberra Institute of Technology's Facebook page which has gone onto become a form of customer relationship management for the Institute and a serious communication tool for CIT. Fiona was also responsible for the sourcing, writing, editing, production and distribution of the Institute's primary industry-focussed e-newsletter produced bimonthly. Fiona also has skillsets in producing videos and video-testimonials and utilising these online to support marketing objectives. Fiona represented the marketing communications team on CIT committees as required. Fiona also presented for me at a workshop to a national group on a 'How to do Facebook for your organisation' which was credited by the group as being the highlight of the day's activities.

I have worked with Fiona at CIT now for over three years and in that time she has demonstrated the unique ability to adapt to developments in new media and more importantly, integrate these into the core business of the Institute. Fiona has been willing and able to take the lead on media projects and ensure they are delivered on time and they meet the expectations of our business owners.

Communications Manager
-
Apr 2012 - Jan 2014
I was responsible for all internal communications activity for CIT's 1000+ staff members. This involved the development of an internal communications strategy which complimented the CIT brand identity system, implemented with content that was benefit-driven, relevant and engaging to the community/channel/audience (supported by appropriate research-based metrics). Key areas of development included the staff intranet; an online platform for staff collaboration and communication; internal communication during a significant organisational restructure; and CIT’s internal response to a 2012 ACT WorkSafe directive.

Communication Officer
-
Jun 2008 - Apr 2012
As CIT's Communication Officer I developed communications strategies for a range of external and internal strategic priorities. I had editorial responsibility for positioning a range of marketing communication channels in a way that was relevant to the audience (eg CIT's staff intranet, website, industry e-newsletter and key publications). I launched CIT's first foreay into social media, setting up and administering social media accounts including Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+. I'm proud of the internal communications campaigns I ran to increase digital literacy of staff; the advice I provided to senior CIT staff about appropriate expansion into these and other channels; and the planning and execution crisis response across our social channels.
