My main responsibilities were: Implemented the sustainability business strategy, relating to recycling, waste minimisation, renewable energy and water and energy reduction. Oversaw all legislative requirements within the group. Ensured IPPC compliance for all Part A installations. Administrated CCL and Waste Packaging Regs Group wide. Was extensively involved in the Company complying with WRAP Courthauld 2025 and the Plastic Pact. Liaised with all Environmental Regulators within the UK (SEPA, EA, NIEA and NRW). Overall responsibility in the reduction of the Company’s Scope 1 and 2 GHG Emissions and involved in the setting and approval of Science Based Targets (SBTs). Worked closely with the Group CSR team to ensure that the corporate CSR plan was delivered in relation to resource management. Liaised closely with the Group Engineering Team in relation to energy efficient projects and effluent plant management. Managed a UK wide Environmental Team, overseeing the hiring, training & professional growth of that team. Actively involved in the progression and development of young people from graduate status to fully competent Environmental Officers. Conduct regular site visits to provide advice and support whether it be audits, regulatory visits or to provide mentoring to the Environmental team. Actively lead the annual ISO audit schedule, assisting sites prior & during certification & surveillance audits. Key Achievements Developed and implemented ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems Group Wide. 100% group wide implementation of ISO 14001:2015 certification. 75% group wide implementation of ISO 50001:2018 certification. Developed environmental and energy metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance to meet with the Groups CSR and regulatory requirements The training and development of a team of graduates into fully competent Environmental Officers.
