I have been able to start the club and run it successfully since the summer of 2019, and through the pandemic. I am proud to have handed over to a new committee upon my graduation; allowing the club the opportunity to grow and flourish further into the future.

I have been working with the rest of the legal team to address challenges like these while also being on hand to other parts of the company to provide legal advice as and when needed. I am using my time here as part of my Qualifying Work Experience for the SQE scheme, to qualify as a Solicitor. Show less

We looked at issues with contracts surrounding things like distribution and sponsorships. We also explored anti bribery procedure, and some did some work around trademarks. I gained hands-on experience of advocacy at the highest level where legislation is created; as Mr Sanchez negotiated with Senators and Congresspeople with the hopes of changing the law. I learnt firsthand how advocacy was conducted at this level; for example, how it was necessary to be flexible to ensure that your wider aims could be implemented. With representatives of the Republican party, for example, the necessity of a fair and even marketplace was stressed. Whereas with Democrats we focused on how increased tax measures could be used to increase funding for the likes of schools and the military. Show less
