  My interest in education began in high school when I volunteered at a local afterschool program. I began working for the Arvin Union School District as an instructional aide shortly after and progressed through various roles until becoming a Student Success Facilitator.As a student advocate, I quickly realized that chronic absenteeism is a symptom of larger issues that many children face on a daily basis. Working with families inspired me to take on my next position as Parent Facilitator. While working at the Arvin Family Resource Center, I discovered a passion for serving the community.I continued to spearhead new programs and practices that empower parents and provide stakeholders with easier access to resources and information. My many years of working in the Arvin District allowed me to build relationships and become personally familiar with the community I am proud to call home. My new role is that of Parent Ambassador, where I continue to empower parents to become advocates for their children's education. Show less
