During 2020 I had the pleasure of working with Fernando, as he did both his internship and his bachelor project in Bühler. In both projects Fernando took highly complex subjects and managed to quickly understand the needs from different places in the organization. In both cases Fernando actually managed to bring relevant new views and methods to the table. Fernando has worked on several disciplines such as mechanical construction and calculation, R&D, purchase and specifications towards vendors together with both economic and environmental impacts. Last but not least Fernando did physical tests in order to make a baseline for possible new solutions. Both me as the direct manager and the team supporting Fernando, has been impressed by his level of professionalism and ability to work independently and reaching out whenever necessary. Fernando has made and researched the possible future solutions by himself, only with guidance from experienced experts on the different criteria and help to navigate in an organization with a lot of stakeholders and rules. I can only give Fernando my best recommendations as I have rarely seen students with such skill set!
