Main job consisted in updating the 'travel by car' service (developed in WSGI Python), which is served by the Interactive Map, using the GIS technologies that provides the PostGis library (it allows the manipulation of geometric data in a Postgres database) and PgRouting (routing algorithms library). Given the geographic information of Buenos Aires city streets, the service was improved by adding turn restrictions, restructuring database, refactoring code and adding test cases for various expected travels. With MaakMedia.nl an user is able to create an advertisement (two lines of text plus an image), select between 9 different dutch diaries and it becomes published in the period of time he chose. MaakMedia.nl was built in Ruby on Rails 2.3.5 (with Ruby at 1.8.7 version). Database is MySQL 5.0, and application server runs on a Passenger Apache 2, on Debian Linux platform. Memcached server was used for optimization and dealing with fast hitting client connections. Also used Monit for server integrity check. Main achievements from my part on the project, were making MaakMedia tool go online for first 9 websites (first going live with a single one, and then after three months, with 8 more). This involved making UI with Sass and JQuery from scratch (interface design was in charge of the designer), optimizing SQL database queries, implementing caching and using Rails metal on highly demanded delivering of banners. STG is an intranet application in which its users can upload avideo or audio file, it gets transcribed into text (using an external API of voice recognition), and then the system sends to the user an email with an attached pdf with transcription text. User can access to a UI to know current transcription state, as well as playing his uploaded multimedia files (via an own streaming server).
