The initial engagement included hiring an M&A firm and the preparation of a Confidential Investment Memorandum that was distributed to prospective investors. In parallel to the M&A transaction, the daily main responsibilities included directing the company’s financial strategy, participating in Board meetings, leading fundraising and financial structuring efforts and overall financial management.

Majority investors in this fund were the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank and the Central American Bank of Economic Integration. Other investors with whom active interaction occurred regularly included European development banks. As CEO of E+Co Capital, General Partner in CAREC, the main responsibilities included management of the fund, pipeline development, managing staff, performing portfolio asset management and executing exit of investee companies, leading the fund’s corporate governance and representing the fund at international venture capital forums. The E+Co Capital CEO also acted as Managing Director of E+Co (holding company) participating on strategic decisions of the group of companies that operate globally and participated as observer on E+Co’s Board meetings.
