Key tasks, authorities and responsibilities · Operate radio equipment. VHF/MF/HF, Inmarsat C and Fleet, DSC etc.; Traffic control radio communications in VHF and SSB sent and answered in the vicinity of the terminal. Administer discipline to be followed in the area for helicopters and vessels traveling in the region. Attendance of emergency communication in case of distress as: MAYDAY, PANPAN and SECURITE. · Operate weather monitoring equipment; · Operate unit movement monitoring equipment; · Perform internal telephone exchange; · Keep radio watch. Receive and transmit radio communication messages in accordance with applicable regulations. · Maintain radio communication log; · Maintain radio watch on emergency frequencies and take required actions upon receiving of distress, urgency and safety calls; · Perform tests of communication equipment according to GMDSS and Computerized Maintenance Management System requirements by carrying out daily, weekly and monthly GMDSS test (VHF , VHF-DSC, MF/HF, INMARSAT equipment, EPIRB, SART, portable two way VHF and other radio equipment). Keep records; · Assist in administrative tasks and activities. · Perform translator and interpreter duties; · Ensure safe communication during helicopter operations as specified by the helicopter operating company. Keep records; · Perform offshore Helicopter administration, i.e. booking, passenger lists, manifests etc. · Perform cabin allocations; · Maintain, update POB lists and transmit it to all parties concerned; · Use the Permit to Work system. Follow the Permit to Work procedures. · Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
